Increasing the number of African Americans in the International Arena

Mission

The Southern Association of Black Peace Corps Volunteers (SAB PCV) Mission is to;

  • Provide support to returned and currently serving Black Peace Corps Volunteers
  • Serve a resource network
  • Increase global awareness among Black Americans and other minority groups

SAB PCV Goals

  • Support Peace Corps diversity recruitment by participating in campus class talks, information sessions, and HBCU outreach
  • Participate in community services activities that promote the advancement of at-risk youth, refugee/immigrant   populations, and minority economic development
  • Provide technical training for post-Peace Corps transition and career development
  • Increase involvement in Paul Coverdell’s WorldWise School.  SAB PCV members should connect with inner-city elementary, middle, and high school faculty and students
  • Participate in regular meet-ups/social gatherings to promote a strong and effective Peace Corps network in the Southern region
